I am Gruhalakshmi, a Montessori-trained teacher who worked as a nursery and primary school teacher at Hope Foundation School, an underprivileged school. It serves children from low-income families in the Kannagi Nagar slum rehabilitation colony. This experience quenched my thirst for real service and brought considerable positive changes to the LKG and UKG students.
My husband is a retired scientist who served under the Indian Council for Agriculture Research and the Ministry of Environment and Forests. Having fulfilled the responsibility of raising our children, I focused on other pursuits in life.
Hope Foundation School operates an English-medium free school in Kannagi Nagar, a slum rehabilitation colony that the foundation serves.
